I’m Alina Magdalena Lyner, a Zürich based artist working under the name ALYNART. I’ve always been someone who looks closely, and I hope my work draws you in the same way, to look again, notice the details, and keep discovering.

I am an observer. I have been one for as long as I can remember. Even as a child, I was fascinated by people, relationships, nature, and everything happening around me. I often notice things that others might overlook: a gesture, a shape, a contrast, or a fleeting mood.

This is where my work begins. Not with a fixed idea, and usually not with the search for a specific subject. More often, something catches my attention and stays with me. It might be an image, a form, a moment, or a sound. In my mind, it continues to develop and connect with other impressions until something new begins to take shape.

I have always carried a vivid world of images within me. What I see does not simply disappear when the moment is over. It stays, changes, and connects with other things in unexpected ways. Often, an image exists in my mind long before I begin to make it visible.

I don’t invent these connections. I discover them. Over the years, I have learned to trust this way of seeing and to express it through painting, photography, and digital image-making.

I am especially interested in the relationships between things, in moments when familiar boundaries begin to disappear. When nature and architecture seem to belong together. When music becomes visible. When organic forms and geometric shapes suddenly seem to speak the same language.

I am drawn to these quiet connections: things that may seem unrelated at first, but reveal something in common when we take a closer look.

For me, making art is not about creating something extraordinary at any cost. I am more interested in whether an image feels honest and true, whether it has its own logic, presence, and reason for existing.

I observe not to judge, but to understand.

Perhaps this is at the heart of my work: the belief that the extraordinary does not always have to be created. Sometimes, it is already there. We only have to take the time to see it.
